This is an attempt by the two cities to establish a cooperative relationship from the exploration stage as well as the signing of the Letter of Intent in the City of Perth on 26 November 2018.


The stages of discussion of the two cities have been passed including analyzing the potential, opportunities and benefits of cooperation for the two cities with the scope of: creative economy, business incubator programs and curriculum as well as knowledge sharing and technology development.

The City of Perth continues to work in this pandemic to sign an MOU with the City of Perth even though it is to virtually benefit the two cities, said the newly elected Mayor of Perth, Mr Bazil Zempilas, accompanied by CEO of Perth Michelle Reynolds.

This event was held virtually simultaneously with the signing of the Perth MOU with Denpasar City. The Australian Consulate General in Bali strongly supports this activity as a form of cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in the IACEPA (Indonesia Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement).

In the future, Perth and Denpasar City will work together in an action plan in collaboration with each university in sharing knowledge on research, capacity building and the creative economy ecosystem.

According to the Head of Cooperation for the City of Denpasar (I.Gusti Ayu Laxmy Saraswaty, SS.M.Hum) who was accompanied by the Head of the Subdivision of Foreign Cooperation (IA Ganda Yukti, SH.M.AP), this is a form of optimizing regional cooperation with the city of Perth so that efforts are made The two cities continue to improve relations which are also based on the IACEPA cooperation between Indonesia and Australia.

Lord Mayor Mr Bazil Zempilas conveyed his message virtually that the cooperation being built at this time is expected to be able to have a maximum impact on the development of the two regions, especially building a digital and creative economy ecosystem.

Congratulations to the two cities namely Denpasar and Perth for successfully increasing the status of Sister City with the opportunities that both cities want to achieve and hopefully this MOU will be an opportunity for new economic development for the two regions. This also indicates that Denpasar is serious about opening up opportunities for foreign cooperation.
